what a great selection of work posted in the gallery this past week!

U28407I1325884119.SEQ.0.jpg

Mlehrman - On 8th Avenue line

U3187I1326010758.SEQ.0.jpg

another excellent street shot. Not a bit of space wasted in this frame.
U3187I1325923618.SEQ.0.jpg

U2655I1326042363.SEQ.0.jpg

U7524I1325872841.SEQ.0.jpg

petronius - 2012-01-07_14
Bleak mood. I love how the lack of detail forces our eye to search for information, and to grasp that which is presented.
U7524I1326056289.SEQ.0.jpg

petronius - 2012-01-05_01
multiple views of the same place in the one instant - reminds me a bit of Hockney..
U7524I1326056287.SEQ.0.jpg

OurManInTangier - InstaDyptych
two frames in one - excellent catch by a practiced eye...
U8001I1325872771.SEQ.0.jpg

OurManInTangier - People Watching
What I like about this is not just the two central characters and their priceless expressions, but the reflections of the women they are looking at.
U8001I1326107423.SEQ.0.jpg

Like Lynn says, a fantastic week. Here are my picks:

jwnash1, a timeless shot, I like how the riders appear to emerge from the dust.

U37697I1325561021.SEQ.0.jpg

And 2 from Tuna,

At first it looks like a mannequin then the realization it's a half marathon runner with his game face on.

U2655I1325634355.SEQ.0.jpg

and the corollary to it is the spectators.

U2655I1325967004.SEQ.0.jpg

filmfan, Superb!!

U19407I1325800191.SEQ.0.jpg

Alex Krasotkin, great hat, great smile, super portrait.

U3149I1325849109.SEQ.0.jpg

lynnb, the gull adds a lot to this.

6646896297_ca148351de_o.jpg

OurManInTangier, 5 people in two frames and no eyes connect.

U8001I1325872771.SEQ.0.jpg

luiman, a most interesting composition and metaphorical shot.

U28407I1325884119.SEQ.0.jpg

Fr. OurManInTangier: Excellent candid shot, the lady in foreground makes the photo for me:

U8001I1325872771.SEQ.0.jpg

Fr. enzocositore.co.uk: Exceptional composition:

U43511I1325870181.SEQ.0.jpg

Beaches by BlackCamera~S.Smyth

Beaches by BlackCamera~S.Smyth

I like the pose, it seems natural to me and like the football prop.
L1080322-2.jpg

I love the tones, the texture, the simple, but effective composition, and the way the background melts away smoothly - the depth of field here is just right. from ferider:

U2191I1326044024.SEQ.0.jpg

And another from his San Gregorio set. I love the atmosphere - mysterious, ethereal, transcendent, are words that come to mind when I look at this picture - and the seagull really adds something special. This set is a meditation with a camera:

U2191I1326044020.SEQ.0.jpg

Here's one from kaspartuu. The composition grabbed my attention immediately while scrolling through the thumbnails. The lady in white against the dark background works very well:

U35393I1325972714.SEQ.0.jpg

Man in a Trechcoat by Stefan Jozeph - dynamic and timeless at the same time. A classic:

U19465I1325923538.SEQ.0.jpg

And one from filmfan - another simple, but very effective composition. timeless and classic, with a bit of mystery. beautiful:

U19407I1325866724.SEQ.0.jpg

Another great one from lynnb. He does some the best seascapes I've ever seen. This one has an abstract, other worldly quality to it that really works for me. Great tones and texture too:

U27021I1325854442.SEQ.0.jpg

And speaking of other worldly, another from filmfan. wonderful:

U19407I1325800191.SEQ.0.jpg

Roland, Randy, thanks, I don't normally play in this sandbox and I never ever post my paid work. This morning walk snap (for fun, not paid) was for all the folks up north wishing for Spring and Summer... shorts and tee shirt this afternoon in Atlanta...heh, heh...;)

It is also about to be hung on the wall at the condo.
