thanks to barnwulf for a mention this week. there is nothing for me to disagree with among everyone else's picks, so i think i will leave it that. too much chemo inertia to overcome this week with thoughtful picks ...

thanks to the kind people who mentioned my photos!
There were so many good photos posted to the gallery this week.
My favourite colour shot for the week:
Mlehrman - Diner, Belfast, Maine. Could be Hopper.
My favourite bw shot for the week:
Mlehrman - Book Fair, Manhattan
taskoni - Lady in Red.
jgilo - claire. Beautiful portrait, lovely lighting.
reagan - Landscape 1, posted in the 2011 FSU Contest. Poignant; I think the high contrast processing suits the starkness of the scene
Robklurfield - All I Saw Was His Tail Lights. I like Rob's strong, low POV composition and the car is perfectly placed. I hope you take care on those narrow verges, Rob - you don't want to end up as another exhibit!
Jack Conrad - Shell Crackers. When I saw this I was amazed at the apparent EV range. Lovely shot.
Frank Version Two - Witches. Armed, and not to be messed with.
Swann - Greenhouse. I liked the formal composition, colour and grain, and detail
StillKicking - M3 Summarit. I like the feeling, and the tonality

and some more:
Frank Version Two - Witches. Armed, and not to be messed with.
Swann - Greenhouse. I liked the formal composition, colour and grain, and detail
Vince Lupo - Untitled. A great find. I also thought the composition and tonality are excellent. My wife asked it this house had been picked up and dropped there by a tornado?
nzeeman - photo of medicine anatomy dolls in Munchen Stadt Museum. Very unsettling, the stuff of horror movies and nightmares!
ChEc has been posting so many good photos lately, particularly the tryptychs - but I'd like to also mention this one, for its moody feel of the night in the rail yards
another one of ChEc's
Keith - transport 03, from the 2011 FSU Contest. This is how I often feel - running like mad, but getting nowhere!
fidget - Conistone, Warfedale. Lovely rural scene framing and tonality
collum - EMP building, Seattle. I liked the whole series, but this one won out for its dramatic impact
brainwood - couple. A classic boy-girl story

There were an enormous number of excellent photographs this week. I tried to keep my picks down to a reasonable number and passed on a lot of great shots. Thank goodness that others stepped up and put them on the Picks of the Week. I hope that more members join in and add to these Monday picks each week. I think that the gallery and gallery picks is such a wonderful part of RFF and I enjoy it tremendously. Jim
