thanks Phil, film twit, Paul, Mike and Huub for mentioning my pictures here, and thanks Scrambler for the kind words!
I thought this was very well captured, and a lovely image:
Untitled - Photo 228387 © 2014 Daves
I also liked the other photos in Daves series.
Katie's portrait was my favourite picture this week.
Another strong favourite was Doug's Young Love. This is a becoming very nice series in the making, of informal portraits of people he meets along the Yakima river in Central Washington. I hope to see more. This is an absolutely delightful, fresh image.
Luigi's Notes from the Road #25 continues this excellent series.
the trudging walk of the disenfranchised in the post-industrial economy..

Bushwick1234's picture of the dog plays with pictorial space in ways similar to many painters. It can be viewed as a flat plane with geometric shapes formed by the step, pavers and manhole cover - almost cubist. The dog is superimposed on these. The composition is pleasingly balanced to my eye.

News Shooter's picture of the wheat field is simply poetic. It reminded me of the opening sequence of Peter Weir's film, Witness. I liked how the light and dof worked together to isolate the sheafs.
I liked the sense of space, freedom and childhood exuberance in Stefan's photo

I also liked the expectant diner at the Cafe Nero in this picture of Stefan's
like many others, I liked Nckchan's lovely beach photo
really liked the use of colour in Swift1's Ektar photo

I liked Pet905's gentle and delicate nature detail. A nice play of light and textures.

Jesse's photo was described as a surreal, pre-Raphaelite masterpiece - what more can I say? It's beautiful. Another of my most favourite pictures this week.

I've included Hiyawaan's great social photo at full resolution because it has maximum impact at the larger size:

Steve Kessel's Stamford Hill photo is a street shot I like a lot:

IMHO sensual and erotic photography is better when it is not explicit; when things are left to the imagination, as in this image by bushwick1234. I think it works better as a result.

I also want to add Rangefinder 35's picture to my selections. This has reference to pictures in photographic history, and is well done. The intensity of her gaze is somewhat unsettling.
