I forgot to include this photo of Doug's. I really appreciate the moment of cat-hydrant synchronicity. This appeals to my sense of humour. If it were a dog, one would instantly understand the connection. Perhaps the cat is wondering what the attraction of hydrants is to dogs. Or maybe it's using the hydrant as a bait, waiting patiently for an unsuspecting canine victim. You can never tell with cats.

I won't repeat some of the wonderful picks so far, but I will repeat this one noted above by Barnwulf. This is a great photograph. It is of something, but the elements go so far beyond mere depiction. It reminds me of Kertesz's chez Mondrian in this regard. For more than two reasons.
