Haven't been trough all the pictures yet, but at an early stage I favored this one. I simply like the cloud of details.
But that would be Peter Greenaway

Nice capture!... For some reason his title made me think this could be a Roger Greenaway film, perhaps a sequel, this one titled: "The Cook, The Photographer his Lover and Juggler."

Jeicob, indeed, Peter, not Roger, Greenaway. Thanks for catching my faux pax.

Very good photograph. It takes me there feeling the air on my chin, smelling the morning and the freshly washed clothes. I think that very few photographs actually activate my smell memory, this one does.
tigerphil, Lacey Shadows,10
When I've seen this photo I remembered another photograph from Roland Barthes' book "Camera Lucida". There was an armchair and a covered window in the background in that picture. These pictures do appear mundane but they have deep emotional feeling for the person who took them and at some level we all resonate with this feeling. For me these are the memories of being a child and waking up after my noon sleep, remembering the silence that engulfed the whole house as if everyone was asleep in the middle of the day.

Apart from the great setup and all these lines, I like how the photographer worked this picture, it does seem like a snapshot (could have been) but on the other hand it seems obvious that the photographer waited for the vertical line bath-short to come into the picture and complete it. Also, the shadow on the wall on the left, doesn't seem to be the photographer (doesn't have the camera up), just an observer. An observer awaiting, just as the photographer has done until then.

Thank you guys for your kind words!
One of many great shots by Machspeed. I choose this one because I love kind of post apocalyptic pictures that show how quick man´s work disappears.
Jordanstarr´s picture shows for me that there are no nations, no religions, no ...isms, only humans that share the same needs and enjoy the same things.
tigerphil, for the tilted rectangles and the simplicity and the light
excellent, for the clever combination and the contrast between the fine subject and the rude grain and tones
paulfish4570 for his sense for the right moment!
Keith for his unique documentation of his life - and for his compositional skills!
cuciureanu for catching this moment (even the shoes have stripes!)
haempe for the joy he caught!
Eyal bin, because I like his street vision; this is a perfect example for his ability to see and compose complex and unforgettable scenes

It would be easy to mistake this for the work of petronius which in my mind is not a bad thing!

Again a week with many beautiful photos, here are my choices.
Colors:
luiman, photo flaneur. Surreal composition and a agrable color combination
tigerphil, Maiden Form,'10. An old time look through an accurate composition and excellent use of the available light.
md2008, the Broom picture (already mentione by hteasly) is very good, but I find excellent the
Maple Leaf Garden. Very simple photo. The man on the right side blowing "something" add a kind of action.
ChEc, L1005090. At the beginning I was not sure about these colors, but looking and looking again I was caught bt them and by the interesting pattern.
not sure if this belong to this week or next one (posted on monday):
Keith's flowers have a astonishing painter look.
Chuck Cates: the color and the composition are so simply special
And now my B&W picks:
Petronius with Rollei 35_091_09: the way this photo is divided in two section, one upper with humans in it and another on the bottom with graphic makes a masterpiece to my eyes
MV72, Bergen 2008: I like the smile of the boy on the left side. He makes this photo alive.
Darkhorse: cleaning up washington DC. Composition could not be better.
Keith, random events # 3: another master of composition. Frames in a frame are magnetic to me...
tigerphil, Old Money,'10 with his nostalgic look.
Paulfish4570, used vehicle lot: a nice confused image in which many stories could be seen.
MV72, Double Snapshot. As photographer I like to see pictures of people taking pictures of other people. And in this one I like the people behind the fence.
There were for sure many others good photos, sorry for not mentioning. I noticed that some photographer have good images both in color and B&W.
Much to learn from again...
ciao, robert
