Gallery Picks for the week ending November 25, 2013
Gallery Picks is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.
There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.
Anybody can start the thread on a Monday.
Anybody can join in, it's a community event!

Here are my picks:
Bushwick1234 -Courtyard
I kept coming back to this image...wonderful tones and perfect composition. I would gladly hang a print of this one in my house.
Gilgsn - Curiosity
Timeless! I thought I was looking at a picture from Harry Benson!
Alex Krasotkin - Evening at the terrace
Another bullseye, from or very own master of the atmospheric environmental portrait. I'm studying your work religiously, hoping to be able one day to produce similar images.
Gm13 - Untitled
I applaud the mind's eye capable to pre-visualize such an image.

Here is my choice, for my first ever pick of the week:

Surprising on my part because usually I don't like out of focus images. There is a certain mystery here however and aesthetic quality, even asceticism.

I can see the similarities with the North of France where I took that photograph around 1985 (been scanning old negatives and prints).. It was a small festival in the town of Deulemont near the Belgian border. I was working for a regional daily newspaper. That image I had maybe two seconds to shoot! I knew I had something when I pressed the shutter button..
I like Benson's work, especially his photojournalism images. Thanks again for the tip.
Gil.
