i thought i liked the one with the car from the thumbnails, but this one looked much better in the gallery. very moody, pretty shapes and tones. love the background. the processing notes on the one with the car were interesting to me.

bands of beautiful color, lovely sunlights. so serene.

lovely image. her pose keeps it from being just some interesting layered landscape. i can't keep my eyes off of her. therefore, it's a win to me.

speaking of can't keep my eyes off of... the first one is the kind of photo we've all seen before, and it's still memorable. lot of texture of hair and wall, and the blacks carry the image. the strength of the left arm is tremendous in an otherwise soft (subject matter, not acutance ) image.
the second starts out so different - all lights and color - but then it's still gorgeous sidelighting and bedroom stoptime. great alignment of head and wall, of shoulder and mirror, of shoulder and ledge. fantastic model, wonderful photos.
London Bridge #2 © 2013 Steveh
this was the most surprising photo this week. bizarre future image. i'm trying to think which big-time photographer it reminds me of... it'll come to me. the lighting is tremendous, the crisp textures on the shirts is so tangible, the kind of random motion is perfectly frozen. it's almost like a museum diorama. the "agent smith" comment in the gallery is right on, as is the call-out of the weird fat building in the background. maybe it's because i never expect london to have golden hour.

straight up pretty colors. lovely.
Waiting for the F train © 2013 Mlehrman
i thought about the hipsters on the train photo next to this one in the gallery, but in the end, this was a stronger image to me. more immediate, more... obscured. and very tactile.

this week's favorite. rhythm, alignment, exceptional timing. lovely water spray, great diagonal gutter and paving stones in the street. just joyous. oh, and it's COLOR, which i didn't notice until just now.
