New Monday, new pictures:

'Gallery Picks' is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.

There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.

Anybody can start the thread on a Monday morning.

Anybody can join in, it's a community event.

Now lets go!

Thanks for the mention, Petronius!

Been out shooting this week, so less time for surfing on RFF. But, even if I'm overlooking even more worthy shots than usual, here are my choices for this week.

Thanks to Martini nand Papercut for the mention.

Like one or two others I was struck by the landscape from Petronius - a stark but somehow beautiful shot

I saw many good photographs this week, I'll include them in a later post, but firstly I must draw your attention to some (IMHO) wonderful polaroids posted by Taxi38:

These are just three of them and they amply demonstrate that it's not the kit that's important... or maybe it is?

Thank you, florian, for the mention, but even more thanks for bringing nico's photo to my attention: I missed it entirely in the gallery, but that is really great! Wonderful shot!

Formal: Cricket

When the day is done, and the ball has spun
In the umpire's pocket away,
And all remains, in the groundsman's pains,
For the rest of time and a day.
There'll be one mad dog and his master, pushing for 4 with the spin.
On a dusty pitch, with two pounds six, of willow-wood in the sun.
