Jon - I always assumed that Bombay Duck was banned in UK restaurants because of the strong odour. However, it turns out that there was an EC ban in 1997 because the EC only allows fish imports from India from approved freezing and canning factories. Bombay Duck is not produced in factories.

kully - thanks for the tip! I'll pass it on to people I know who like the stuff. I am not a great fan, I have to admit. There are better things to try in a Brum curry house - give me a chicken tikka masalah any day 🙂

Ooooh exams!! Glad I've left those behind me now. I loved university but it was always the hot and sunny days when I had to revise or complete some form of essay.
