Many thanks Ko.Fe, functus, j.scooter, Tony, and Bike Tourist for mentioning my photos! I always appreciate it when people like my photos enough to include them in this thread.

A heart-wrenching image. I would like to know the back story. I understand Isakovo is a small town of under 700 people in rural Croatia.

This is an interesting photo on the power of semiology. I like the preoccupation of photographer and model, and the panoramic composition and context, but what totally dominates the visual field, to my eye at least, is that "No Entry" sign dead centre..

My warmest congratulations to Johan and Britta on the arrival of Ester, little sister to Hilda. What greater joy could there be in a photograph?

The sun is radiant, throwing the Merde! into the shadows - a fitting photograph, given the circumstances. Welcome back, David. Good to see you again. You've been missed.

Abandoned dreams of civic pride. I like the composition with that bicycle rider and the deserted streets. The town is in slow decline; this photo conveys that.

if Atget had a Monochrom, he might well have made the same photo. Love the shadows and the light sculpting. Very nice work.

Wonderful catch of gesture. Love the framing - it could be a theatre or movie set. Lots of interesting detail to feast on. The bicycle is essential to the balance IMO.

perfect timing and great composition. Love the lines, and the light off the cobblestones.

Rarely have I seen so desolate a space. Is this the waiting room to hell?

The central composition and square aspect impart peaceful stability. I like the texture of the dark stonework and the reflections in the glass. The vases suggest ritual. There is a sombre mood. I find beauty in this.

A bookseller with taste - only to be expected, given the location. Very nice street capture from the city of light

I liked this whole series - this one the most, for that infectious, cheeky smile:
