Gariz half case - floppy baseplate key?

I recently ordered a Gariz half case for my NEX-7 which arrived today.

Fit is good and I like it, but - is the attachment screw key tab supposed to be floppy, or should it have resistance that keeps it flat against the baseplate? It's designed like a Leica baseplate key, but mine's not sprung.

Anyone? I'm trying to determine if this case is defective or not.

The ring is floppy on mine, when it is not screwed in, then solidifies (and stays up) when tightened to the camera.
