Tastes are indeed subjective. Case in point, I think McCurry is an awful photographer. The Céline Dion of photography if you will (since we're making comparisons). But, much like with Céline Dion, I understand what people like about the work.

McCurry is the Celine Dion of Pop music, the Beethoven of Classical music, the Bruce Gilden of Street photography, the McDonalds of fast food, the Coca-Cola of soft Drinks, the Jack Daniels of Alcohol and the Ferrari of Sports cars.

Pretty good if you ask me 🙂

One thing is sure, though, Winogrand has taken some truly jaw droping images. I thinkof the couple kissing on a bench as one of the all-time best photographs.

Forget McCurry, forget Winogrand.

I am happy I can be different from both.
