Looks like the color of the gray commemorative T with the 50 Heliar lens. 🙂
While I was at the Cosina site, I checked th Zeiss Ikon page. They have a series of announcements, including an all black ZI (with picture) & a ZI price of 153,000 yen which converts to $1376.84 USD. Nice price. 🙂

I'm not sure about the black Ikon, black paint on either side of the lens flange does not seem right.

Not at this time, Peter. I have felt all along that Zeiss set the price high in the USA because of the eroding value of the dollar. With a hedge against declining dollar value, they won't have to raise prices the way Leica has in order to maintain a profit. However, if the dollar stabilizes (unlikely), we might then see US prices come down.
The good news about these Japanese prices is that we may see low grey market prices from importers like Tony Rose. At the very least, this is a good indicator of where the price will be from exporters like Dr. Joseph Yao in Hong Kong.

The grey Bessa is due end Jul or early Aug. Price will be a fraction higher over the current black ones. Think it might be a limited production run like the olive R2 (less than 2000 I believe).
