many thanks l have agreed to sell some gear to cover cost of the IIIG....looks like the Bronica gear must go

The IIIg is amazingly under priced in today's marketplace.
For decades you could not find one in nice shape for less than $1500.

Well it arrived today and l am mightily impressed and its in great nick too, at present l only have a jupiter 8 for but when l sell my other bronica l will grab a nice summitar and hopefully an uncoated summar at sometime

Fast AND silent. Very, very smooooth too.
The collapsible Summicron 50 is contemporaneous with this camera.

sounds like you have a great set up, l would love a summicron but they are soooooooo expensive🙁

A chrome 50mm f/2.5 Color-Skopar would be very nice too and is maybe substantially cheaper. Easier to find too because almost all collapsible Summicrons offered for sale have scratched front lenses.

When your wife sees it being used and asks if that is a NEW camera, you can honestly answer that no, it is an OLD camera.

I'm not sure what you should tell your wife but I'm certain a IIIg won't be a flash in the pan buy. I've had mine a few years now and it's a camera that would be the last to sell . The barnacls are very tactile useable cameras but the IIIg with its improved viewfinder is hard to beat . Enjoy your new camera

l had a Leica IIIf RD a few years ago big regret selling that one, love the feel of barnacks, very impressed with the finder on the IIIG......definately a keeper🙂

It is difficult but not impossible to find a collapsible Summicron with a perfect front element. I found a mint body lens with perfect glass. When I bought it, the price was high even though the glass had haze, and the focus was very stiff. But, that perfect front and rear glass coating!
