But back to the original topic - I fully agree with the printing recommendation. It is very rewarding to get your best photos printed. I have made of myself a nice album (portfolio of around 30 photographs) of my 6x6 exposures. The one has also something to show to friends an family - not only gear 😛

I lost my GAS when Leica started inflating their prices beyond any factual relation to economics (currency valuation, cost of goods/labor inflation, etc.). I still own more lenses than I need, many I haven't used in years. Keeping them as backups basically. My newest lens (by date of introduction) is over 20 years old. I'm very happy with the results I get from my lenses. At this point I prefer to spend my money on travel. I don't find myself very creatively inspired on my home turf.

Cars: No, sorry. Really no interest whatsoever, I even don't have a drivers license, although strangely I work in the automotive industry. But looking at, or even collect cars... Not for me, I'm afraid.

Wet collodion and large format: Well, you really had me for a minute... I really like those images. But no, not my style of shooting. And it would really be difficult, to explain to my wife, why we need to change our little sons room into a darkroom...

Another Leica, digital or film, ... boring.

But prints, yeah, they have something. Also I collect nice photo books an did a few myself. I also have some prints up to one square meter in size, but not so much space to hang them. Instead I have a pretty big display and enjoy my slideshows...

Fact is, I enjoy not having any GAS attacks currently and recently sold some stuff and still try to get rid of some other. It's just... surprising, when I realized, that I'm happy, with what I have and don't lust for anything else.

PS: Okay, bags... But there is nothing out there, that fits my needs. So I'm trying to create one myself for some time now.

Trade in your GAS for PAS - photo acquisition syndrome. GAS is often procrastination for shooting. Of course shiny objects are seductive. 🙂

The word that no one's mentioned is "tripod" and so I wonder if any one ever uses them these days but they do improve photo's and "no batteries required" to use them...

You can get GAS about tripods? Thats new... Never heard of a tripod collector. I admit, I have three, but they are totally different things (Gorillapod, if it needs to be very small, a good Monopod - okay, not a tripod... - and a good and light travel tripod from Cullmann, which serves me good). Not too often, but I use them all.

Like you, I don't feel the urge for new (to me) gear. However, I've found that I like developing and scanning my film. The next step will be printing my photos and looking for suitable frames. Fortunately, my wife likes some of my work and would like to see it hanging in the house. She even suggested to have frames that allow easy replacement of prints, so that we can have an ever changing photo exhibit at home... 🙂

Thats the advantage with film-shooting, you always get a little bit of that GAS satisfaction when buying new film... so you never fall into that black hole, when you have all the gear you desire..
