As for gear gas I'm pretty happy with my current set up these days.

As for fuel I guess I'm lucky in that as my job ends up paying for it from a few weeks prior to Memorial Day to just after Labor Day. I'm one of the lucky ones(meaning I apparently don't piss and moan enough about it) that gets a force transfer every summer. The past two my round trip commute was 100 miles a day, thankfully they have to pay me travel pay which equals nearly triple what I spend on gas. Maintenance should be easy on the wallet this year, last year was rotors, calipers, pads, and tires all around.

My GAS never stops. I like playing new toys even they don't contribute my photographic skills most times. But I really admire the people who settle down to very limited setup and carry on the hobby with it. One body, two lenses should be enough for the most cases...

i've learned to tame my GAS with cameras, I had it before with watches but I eventually realised the perfect item that you've been searching for doesn't really exist so at some point you have to stop spending and just be happy with what you've got

I recently discovered the big Fujis, got myself a GW680 and a GSW690 and a GA645Zi.

Thought I was cured after that, too.

Then I played around with a GF670 the other day... and BAM, the GAS is coming back!

It must be incurable.

I go through phases , mostly when a "cheep" Leica comes upon my particular path. As much as I want one, the prices are just out of comfortable reach. I find that after a few weeks of wishfull thinking the GAS passes. I stick with the screw mounts so all my currently owned lenses work W/O an adapter. I really have more glass than I need, but an occasional "bargain" shows up. The best treatment seems to be not reading ad's. .. ... anywhere!Whew!

Other. There's less and less stuff that I feel any desire to add to what I already own, and often, the price of the stuff in question is so high I can't afford it, even if I REALLY wanted to.

And, if I'm honest, although I'd like to replace my M8 with a second M9 (or M10 when it eventually appears), one M9 is fine and the M8 is a perfectly adequate backup. Film Ms just aren't a problem.

Cheers,

R.

Local yard sales and that damn craigslist is what keeps my "stash" growing.......

New stuff? I go years between buying Brand new cameras.

GAS is fun, but it also means losing 30 precious minutes of good light on ebay or at home undecided what camera to take or, even worse, looking for it after you have decided which one to take, and not finding it. GAS means not being able to afford the best camera / lens combination which you could do if you had not bought so many cute cameras and vintage lenses that you really needed to check them out. GAS means not getting the best out of a camera / lens combination as someone that only shoots always with one camera two/three lens surely manages. GAS can degenerate into complulsive hoarding (hope not!!).

There is lot worse than GAS around, though....

I was hoarding gear for a while, but realized I'd rather have a few kits I use often than a bunch of cameras I use every once in a while.

I think I'm going to downsize to my Nikon F+F3, Mamiya Press, and Mamiya RZ.
