I feel it's a great camera designwise. I have to say all the bad things I've read about the "watercolor effect" on foliage are true. I kind of wrote it off when I read about about it... When I started seeing something that didn't look right in my images I started in investigate. Although it doesn't happen all the time it's pretty unpredictable actually depending on the light, lens, aperture... I tried many different RAW processors; some were better than others but at the end of the day the effect is still there. I 100% believe this is because of the X-Trans sensor and the way it handles moire. If they had just kept with the CMOS sensor like in the old X100 and in the GFX there is no way I would get rid of this camera. This is Fuji trying to be "different" and all their marketing tactics ... Sucks cause they really know how to design a camera and make some really good little lenses. I only had the camera for a little over a year. It was meant to be a replacement for my big bulky Nikon D800E as I have a Leica M9. I'm moving to the dark side with the Sony A7r II... not perfect by any stretch, but the image quality is right there with the M9 with native Zeiss glass it's hard to overlook now which I did in the past.
 
I had come to grips with the "schmear" on my XP1 and was looking forward to an increased IQ with the 2. I found it more noise ridden and sent it back for that reason. by the time the noise was suppressed the gain in resolution was negated. I'm going to try Capture One again to see if they've got the Xtrans thing down. If they do (My wife has the X-T2) then I'll consider it again.

I haven't looked that deep. While I'm hoping it will be F mount and FullFrame, my pocketbook is not full enough these days for what it will probably cost.

The lens specs were on NikonRumors I believe not sure how legit it is... only time will tell... I will be shocked if they good with a full frame mirrorless really... I don't think they have a guts to do it..
 
I've been saying that XTrans is a massive failure for years but everybody always gave me a bunch of crap about it. CLEARLY Nikon, Pentax, Canon, & Sony have been able to design pro and semi pro APS-C cameras w/o having to worry about Moire. But suddenly Fuji tries to design a sensor that mitigates a non-problem, and makes detail rendition WORSE. True you can use other processors for RAW images, but for a professional workflow this is not an option.

Plus Fuji's line up really just reveals the fact that 24x36 sensors are the best all-rounder solution for high quality imaging. The GFX is nice, but the D850, A7RII, are pretty much just a nice with a lot of other advantages.

Fuji, designs fab cams, fab lenses, great films, but with fatal and inexplicable flaws. I think their best effort is the X100 series. Those do a lot right, and can be forgiven for not being FF.

I'm agreeing with you 100% here.... X-Trans is a massive misconception unfortunately..

Define boring? "Boring" photographs are the most interesting photographs... Obviously its not the cameras fault... but if image quality is not up to your standard which everyone has a different standard or course... its not inspiring to me... I've photographed with all types of cameras in the past... from Holgas to Digital Hasselblads... I don't switch cameras that often at all... My kit is rather small... Inspiration comes from many places be it looking at other people's work to the equipment you use to create with... Every time I pick up that M9 I'm inspired to make images...
