Gear to make my photography better.

Here here to shooting more. I am sadly lacking with that. Well, maybe sadly lacking in the processing end of things.

To everything there is a season, so I run hot and cold on the books. For me, there are times which too much focus on photo books actually inhibit me by pushing me to a style, theme or techniques that aren't right for me.

Or you might look at a Crown Graphic, a fine old 4x5 with reasonable capabilities and I would think prices are reasonable (have not ever looked for one as I have my fathers old one). Not a lot to break, has a built in rangefinder and some swings and a back that opens up for focusing.

Kevin is right about having one shot at a picture, there is something to be said about it.

So,
It is 2 O' Clock in the morning and I am {cooked, hammered, waxed, bent--pick your choice of euphemism for DRUNK} still, apparently, not expressing myself well.
Better tools make for a better enjoyment of my hobby.
4x5 is a whole other world. Appealing as it may be, it is not for me.

🙂 i know exactly what you mean, Rob. I also don't care much about details like sharpest lens, or frames per second, i only care if I am enjoying my hobby or not. First part of this is obviously enjoying the act of making the photograph.
That's why i still have no digital camera, only a very small very stupid idiotproof olympus that i got as a present (and i use that rarely, hell i don't even have a memory card for it, only the built-in one enough for 8 shots 😀 so it's like a 6x9 folding camera for me 😀)
Also, that's why i still have not used my excellent but heavy tank kowa six...unbelievable, i repaired the wide lens, i replaced the light seals and the camera just sits in the corner for months without one single roll through it. It's a shame.
But i got a great kick out of my simple cheap GSN lately.
