Generation Kill on HBO

I don't watch TV myself, but in that picture the rangefinder window seems too far from the viewfinder window to be a Bessa R.

My guess would be a chrome Leica MP, since I don't see a red dot.

cool, maybe the actor is an RF aficionado. In another pic it looks like the sniper forgot to take his lens caps off his scope as he's about to take aim, kinda funny I thought.

I think we are both right.. I think he's got two different bodies. Not uncommon for a combat photographer. The camera in this picture is not the same as in the first link I posted.

That makes it twice the RF fun!

The second pic is definitely Leica. So I went back and looked closely at Stephens website at http://www.cameraquest.com/voigrf.htm and if you look the rangefinder window is right beside the frameline illumination window on a Bessa R and furthermore the thickness of chrome beside the viewfinder is also much greater on a Bessa R than in the first picture. My initial guess is wrong it is a Leica in both shots.

To me it looks like a Rollei 35 RF 35mm.
What looks like the patch may actually be the number "35" on the front of the body, right under the shutter speeds button.

I've been watching the series on HBO, and noted the rf being used by the actor playing the embedded journalist. From the angled rewind crank, it sure looked like a Leica to me, although I could not say which version.

I agree that it's a Leica. I've watched the first three episodes a few times this past week and it appears to be either an M6 or M7. It does have a red dot.

AND, there is no loud mirror slap like many Leica's seems to have in other movies, just a quiet click.
