Generic M Adapter Won't "Click" On

Hi All,

I have a Generic M Adapter, that fit's tightly, but dosen't "click" on, like my Leitz Adapters do. It seems that the "slot" machined on the mount, to accept the latch on the body, needs to be made deeper, so it will "lock-on" with authority.



Has anybody cleaned one of these up? I do have access to Jewelers Files, or should I use a Dremel with a Metal Routing Bit? Any other suggestions?

It might be that the adapter will not rotate far enough to allow the pin to pop up in the notch. That happened on one of my adapters and was solve by filing one of the four lugs back a hair. Can't recall which lug it was. The filing was not done with a Dremel type tool but a very small hand file.
