I don't want to steal your thread, but may I participate? Me and my wife were in Georgia in 2015. Most interesting and beautiful country. Just a few of the many photos I shot.

Thanks Faris.

@Jarski: I enjoyed your blog. Recognize many of the things you described and showed. It's like being there again. What a wonderful country. The best of all, there are hardly any tourists and it's all authentic Georgian. And then the wine.... oh my :)

thanks faris & HuubL. your photos show couple places I missed in Georgia. maybe some day again :) btw. neighbouring Armenia is interesting visit also.

Thanks for all the beautiful shots of this very beautiful area. I was wondering why this area had not seen as much tourist's as you all have mentioned, and were you advised before you went there about a "Tourist Advisory". In Canada they try to cover that area when there is no Embassy available in case of trouble, or a stolen passport for eg.?

Georgia used to have a bit shady reputation, like many former Soviet republics. Corruption and mafia problems were endemic. But already 10 years now country has been on track to stable and developing nation. One example of changes (Wikipedia): "In 2005 Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili fired "the entire traffic police force" of the Georgian National Police due to corruption, numbering around 30,000 police officers.".

When I traveled there past summer, didn't have safety concerns or issues (apart from cows standing on roads and causing surprises :p ).

Jarski, thanks for the quick response. My worry would be as I previously mentioned is a stolen passport; and it will happen. Without a well known Embassy available to help you out; this could be a problem leaving on time!
