german camera on a german photographer. anybody recognise him despite the obvious lack of hints in the picture?

That would be Thomas Hoepker? Maybe a hint or two in the background shots. It must have been an amazing experience to meet him - and a wonderful exhibition. Great portrait, too, BTW.
