It really is a beautiful work of art, Ron.

ZZPZA, those shots of the Praktica BX20 and CZJ lenses are gorgeous! Good thing I'm tapped out now, or I'd be getting into another camera system.

Hi Tom,
I read that the Robot challenged Zeiss, so Zeiss produced the Tenax camera. Its format is strange since it is not a full frame or a half frame camera. It takes square images. I find my Tenax to be an extremely well made camera. I bet that the Robot's craftmanship is equally high level.
If you mean by "challenged" that Robot sold cameras in volumes that made Zeiss green with envy... then yes.... Just as Leitz and nearly anyone else that was more sucessful than Zeiss selling cameras..... Zeiss tried to jump onto the bandwagon and ... failed.
Years later, of course, Robot did challenge Zeiss.. it offered some sluggish selling Robot Royals with Zeiss Sonnar objectives at an attractive price via Quelle (a mailorder chain somewhat like Sears).. and Zeiss responded..:bang:

Some are still in possession, some were sold long ago..

I still think this is the handsomest camera I've owned (together with my Nikon SP), but hate that squinty viewfinder *.o
