As far as one can be safe, without the camera to have seen actual, we are safe us: A digital Leica r-Spiegelreflex will have to be seen 2008 on the Leica conditions to photokina:

Much more was not to be experienced. The image sensor will come from a manufacturer, that (also) is OEM supplier. There come among other things. Kodak, Sony, Imacon into the sense. (that comes of to co-operation with Imacon somewhat luckless digital module r.) A full format sensor 24x36 mm appears as just as probable as a dissolution beyond the 15 megapixels - is however still pure speculation. However Leica sent full format signals already times, from which one wanted to then know first times nothing more.
If Leica adheres to the same name convention as with the Messsucherkameras, then the next Leica Spiegelreflex becomes R10 „is called“ simple.
Small shown here by the way still the R9, because the R10 are ward not yet seen.

The article says their is something of a reliable rumour (if such a thing exists) that Leica will show a digital SLR at Photokina. And not just a prototype but a production ready one.
Sensor is third party, it is not known which one. Full frame is suggested and more than 15Mp resolution.
No word on pricing, but expect to take yet another mortgage.

Full frame leica SLR? Very nice. 15mp is probably overkill but they'll use that as a marketing tool to justify the high price and that its a leica (it couldn't just be 12!)
