Germans to the (leather bag) Front...

After years of using plastic bags I looked for something more classic in style for my little Pentax Limited setup. I thought leather would be fine for the gang.
I also liked the idea of using a "non-photo-bag".
The little German newcomer aunts&uncles Ledertaschen - Aunts & Uncles
offers leather bags in a nice "used-look" finsh.
My choice is the Jade: Ledertaschen - Aunts & Uncles
With my camera gear it looks so:






The Jade is only the smallest one of there bags. People with a bigger camera setup can choose so bigger one bags.

These bags are nice and relatively affordable. I found one that I like but 'dunno where to order it. The rustic, used feel looks good.

IMHO it fits very well. It was my decision to choose the smallest possible bag for my setup. My plans are also to buy a Pentax K7 camera next year. Its a little bit smaller than my actual Pentax K20D, so fitting will be perfect.

They offer a few bigger bags so everyone can choose the size witch fits perfect.

My first plans were to use an extra added velcro inlet for protection (you find them in every better camera store, or you can make your own). But the thick leather is so perfect in protection way that I think I dont need that.

Did you really have to post the bag porn! The last thing I need (besides another camera) is another bag to hold cameras. 😉

Having said that, they are lovely. Let us know if they tell you someone who will ship to N.A. because I will have to buy one.

Just a heads-up, I bought a Swiss military "engineer's pack," which is a primo traditional Alpine (meaning Alps) framed rucksack, very heavy, and completely waterproof.

I will get y'all pictures soon as I get back to my "hut."

But until then, here is a picture of my own version of the ALICE pack that I have been using for at least 20 years, but not typically for cameras:



Canon 1.8 on XT sensor
I finally figured out why the camera always reads f1.8 with this lens: there is no iris! For the first time in my experience, iris and aperature (as in blades) are not interchangable -- this is a single aperature lens. Not quite the bargain I thought it was, but has nice bokeh, ahh, wide open--which is all it does.:bang:

I bought a real ALICE pack on eprey, but it is so far a little disapointing.
