Germany RFF'ers?

Not a German RFFer but:

I went to visit 'Privat' today, a photo exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, and it was very much worth it.

Edit: oh. tomorrow's the last day of the exhibit.

Apologies for the late reply. This turn-out is really great, and I could even create a Germany Street Shoot for a day with such a fantastic group of individuals!

I shall respond to each of you individually around late Feb on my travel plans and a meet up.

Thanks much guys/gals!

I live close to Frankfurt, but visit Cologne regularly. Let me know when you're heading to either city and I'd love to join you guys for a photo-(and beer-)walk.

Actually, I live almost in the same town as efix. ;)
If I've got the time when you arrive, count me in!

Guys, just a quick question since you guys know it best. Would a 3 days 2 night in berlin be sufficient or should i sacrifice or push back a nite in innsbruck, austria or even switzerland to stay another day in Berlin...

From what i googled, Berlin seems quite urban compared to the victorian old streets in Austria and some landscape in Switzerland..

Would it be advisable/feasible to drag along a Mamiya RZ67 where I hope to get portraits and some landscapes of Germany?

I think dragging along a RZ67 is never advisable seen from a orthopaedic point of view. :D
But really, why not?

Depends on what you plan to see.
But I would say 3 days in Berlin is not enough if you want to get an at least somewhat "complete" impression.
Of course, 3 days is better than nothing. ;)

:) LOL.

Initially I thought I could contain my thoughts to a 110mmm with my RZ. Then I realized that the 50/4.5 Sekor sitting in the dry box at home would be a waste. :bang:

I actually spend more time thinking about what gear to shoot with rather than what clothes to pack. Insane.

If you travel to many places and don´t stay at one - I would pick up the lightes gear I have.
1 body and 2 or 3 lenses would be engough for nearly any situation.

When you came to Innsbruck and we walk together I can lend you some of my gear if you like - mostly old SLR stuff from Voigtländer or Zeiss.
Or maybe a Kiev

I know that feeling well.
A one camera one lens setup can sometimes be a relieve .. you just have to pick the right one. That is the most difficult part.
When I go medium format for a trip I like to have a second 135 camera that is light for the more snapshot-ish stuff .. like my CL or XA. When I go only 135 I take a M-Leica.

This is most kind of you. Will update you via PM on my plans :)

My initial plan was to hit the trip with 1 M-Mount with 3 lens. After a check on my film stock in my fridge, the amount of 120mm Acros and Velvia's/Provia's shouted at me, they said:

"Are we going or not?"

I looked at the focusing screen of my Yashica Mat 124.

Then I looked at my RZ67.

Guess who won that one.

If the RZ won, nobody will walk WITH you on your trip across the nation(s) a hopefully they'll wait for you at the corners to catch up:D

LOL.

I base my theory that I should be able to endure the physical hardship of the RZ with 2 lens plus an M-mount with another 2 lens and a stash of film because...

I survived one month in Europe with my brick of a D3 + F100 + 4 lens back in 2010.

But I am old now.

And wiser I should be no?

Just don make sense to buy the best equipment and leave them at home...

im bringing my bronica SQ-Ai setup...

argghh...but then u really envy people who travel light..
