Get me inspired on 50 Summilux ASPH

Well Lloyd, That looks perfect for me, very deep tones and textures, excellent sharpness and creamy bokeh, it is trully great lens, I can imagine delta 100 enlarged with this lens...... Great samples! post some more! Thank you

Magus, exactly same here, I don`t think I have taken any image that I like 🙂 (and don`t start that how amazing I am thing)

I also think the Summilux has a magical quality but I am always a little hesitant to say so because I know it rubs some people the wrong way to hear that. Vladimer buy the darn lens, you will not be sorry.

It is of course a personal choice. Some folks like blondes, others like brunettes.

First of all, I think dogs have a great life, second I have seen your images and I think they are great (maybe because they have been taken in paris 😀 😀 😀: D ) and third PM me when you will sell stuff!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

As for talent, I have to say something very cliche 😀 talent is very practical thing, I mean everybody is talented, you just have to find a way of using it, I mean talent is a way of using something, talent is beleave that you can do something, thats it, so stop talking rubish 😀

Well put. Hemingway used to say that his work is 90% blood and sweat and 10% inspiration. One hundred and eight frames is nothing, Bresson et.al. used to burn that much film in a day (probably they threw it away save for a very a few frames, now and then).

We are here because we enjoy the whole photographic process (going out to shoot is still one of the most relaxing things I do) warts and all. Sometimes (not very often!), an image will be saved from the flux of time that will have a special resonance. You don't know when this will happen, you can't make an appointment with the Decisive Moment. You can only go on photographing, day and night, trying to mould this special split second according to your vision. And if it were easier than that we wouldn't be hooked!

(And, by the way, I am all for casual snaps, sometimes they carry a personal significance that even the greatest work of art cannot compete with).

I do not claim that anything I post here is art; I post these images only to show the fingerprint of the 50ASPH.

This one is wide open with Efke 25.

Just the other day I chanced upon a scene that could have been a really beautiful photo. I mean, I would have been very happy to have clenched it out of the jaws of Time.

Guess what. In my haste, I used wrong shutter speed. The photo came out seriously underexposed (the film was already pushed one-and-a-half stops). I could see what the photo would have looked liked but it was unsalvageable. :bang: Now that's reason to throw yourself out of the window (not the gear - never!).

I think labour is very little part of actual thing, I mean physicly it might be, you might really get sweaty but you wont notice it, you wont percieve it as a labor 🙂

I want to post some color sonnar 1.5 shots for you, but I just cannot seem to get color scanning to work right anymore 🙁 🙁 🙁 I had the lab scan for me on fuji frontier, but it's crap. All of it.

I played with the 50 lux at the store several weeks ago.. and.. the aperture ring felt somewhat cheap. It didn't quite LOCK into place. And it was heavy.

Where do you live?
