Get me inspired on 50 Summilux ASPH

if 35mm summilux had better focusing ring I would definetly be going for it...
Vladimer I don't like the tabs on Leica lenses either, but the 35mm Summilux ASPH has a large(ish) diameter and that somehow makes the tab on that lens acceptable. I've used mine since February and have become comfortable with it, something I thought I would never say about Leica wide angle lenses. I actually bought a second WA (24/2.8) and the diameter of that lens is smaller than the 35 and I am still trying to get used to it.

Guess what. In my haste, I used wrong shutter speed. The photo came out seriously underexposed (the film was already pushed one-and-a-half stops). I could see what the photo would have looked liked but it was unsalvageable. :bang: Now that's reason to throw yourself out of the window (not the gear - never!).
Not at all; but it is certainly a reason to think about AE... 😉

Vladimer, here's one of Jorge's 50 asph with nice OOF areas, to my eyes.

I hope you don't mind me posting it Jorge...

I have noticed another member of the forum, John Kuo, is using the lens, both wide open and closed, for colour, which is what interests you. Check his flickr to see some photos, here (John, I hope you don't mind 🙂 ):

John is using almost all the Leica Asphericals, so this is a good place to peruse for photo samples.

Thanks for the link to my photos. 🙂

The way the 50 ASPH renders texture is really impressive, even after compression into web size.

oh dear, never hold the lens! No temptations! No No No!

Oh hell, just do it. It seems your pockets are pretty deep, especially with all that gear and currently being in Dubai right?
