The GIII collection has now tripled! Also one 28 model, but I'm not worrying about it for now.
Two of the GIII cameras are mostly for training on. One from evilbay, and one from the Salvation Army store.
I've removed the top and bottom plate from one, peeled back the leather on the right hand side front, and things don't look bad, just dirty. The main problem is the shutter won't fire, the shutter speed dial is hard to turn, and sometimes locks or siezes on B. Shutter button and linkages depress, so I am concluding the problem(s) are in the lens. Focusing is smooth however, and I've cleaned the viewfinder. It's got some battery corrosion as well, but I'm not terribly worried if the meter doesn't work, I can work on that after seeing if the lens/shutter is repairable.
It is missing the battery check light/holder assembly too.
Any help getting into the shutter would be greatly appreciated. I know full well this may turn into a piece of bric-a-brac, but I bought it for the learning curve.
Best regards,
John Halliburton
