Okay Gene, time for a show and tell! Did you get one with a case and extra lenses? Kind of goofy stuff but can be fun if you did.

From my 1st roll in the Electro 35
From my 1st roll in the Electro 35
Took this Propane Lantern lit picture of my youngest daughter with my unfortunately underexposing Electro 35, a few weeks ago while camping.
Film was Kodak 400 High Definition
5x7 scanned on my lowly CanoScan FB620P, with a little sharpening applied.

2. Brad, do you mind sharing what film you were using? I really love the tones in your images.
3. I just recently aquired a Lynx 14 myself. Upside, the body and lens look absolutely brand new! I'm really amazed at the build quality of it. Downside, I haven't been able to get metering to work yet. Upside, I have a trusted source for specialty lenses that I've been using for over a year that is sending me a working shoe mount selenium meter. Hopefully I can add some images myself later this week.
4. My own Lynx has been apparantly sitting unused so long that the seals are pretty much gone. Can someone post a link to the G Man that I keep seeing mentioned in this thread?

1. Thanks to everyone posting images in this thread. It's really fascinating to see what people are doing with their various Yashica's.Brad Bireley said:Here are some of my 1st photos from my Lynx 14e.

OK, here's one from my first test roll through my YF. Pics look clear and sharp, but I seem to have a film advance problem when I switch to a fast shutter speed...it was fine at 125 and 250, but when I went to 1000 the film skipped off the sprocket (I think...)

Hi Jester, I've a couple of Yashica's and none go to 1/1000th... Which model is this one?

It's a YF, my dad bought it new (I think) back in the early 60's. I inherited it a couple of years ago, this is the first time I've actually done anything with it
Here's one on Ebay with pictures...mines in slightly better condition than this (not quite so many little dings on the top)

I've heard about these but never seen one. Wow a beautiful camera and a valuable one too! Sorry I don't have any advice on the film jamming.

I'm not too worried about it...I don't plan on doing any shooting that would require that fast a shutter speed. I'm going to put another roll through all at slow shutter speed and see if it was just coincidence or if it jumps off the sprockets at the same point in the roll.
It is a good lookin camera though!

Being a rangefinder newbie, I'm not sure...cameraquest.com's info on the YF says it's a "...very nice combined life-size Rangefinder-Viewfinder with Parallax corrected 50 and 100 projected brightlines."

That's really all I know about it. I don't have any of the original manuals...only the camera itself.
Edit:...OK, have run through a second roll of film, Kodak 400 this time. Better results this time for sure
