Give Us The Name of An Old Out Of Business Photography Company

Miranda Camera Company, although it seems a company called Dixon keeps the right to the name, its been a long time since the company went out of business.

And yes, really love the Miranda cameras. Sweet mechanical goodness. Sensomat was one of my early cameras.

Weston (light meters).

Polaroid (today Polaroid is just a marketing name attached to TVs and other electronics. The company no longer exists).

Some companies still exist but have stopped making photo gear, like Minolta.

Deardorff. Besides a Leica MP, and a Rolleiflex T, I use a 1938 5x7" Deardorff Special. Nothing like printing from that big negative.

Agree with all of the above. DuPont made my favorite papers for many years. DuPont Varilour was my favorite. I'll add Goerz optical, Ebony view cameras and Burke and James.

So many fine products are now gone.

Dupont Velour black in graded paper. Agfa Portriga Rapid 111 and 118, too.
More silver than you could shake a stick at it the Dupont bromide papers. Agfa ruled the chloro-bromes.

Rolleiflex. Very classic.

I think 3.5F is a perfect medium format camera.

Burleigh Brooks, Spiratone, Zunow.

Plaubel Veriwide 100 is a perfect companion to any model of Rolleiflex. It was made for BUrleigh Brooks. 28/2 Spiratone by Mitake lens is pretty decent. I would really like to try that rare 50/1.1 Zunow lens.

Used all of these as well as Ansco papers in the 50's into the early 60's. While we're on paper Forte Poly Warmtone Plus FB. Beautiful paper but recently discovered the Bergger Warmtone mat which is close.

Devere, Wollensak, Braun, Metz and Ascor are no longer around.

Products that are gone, panatomic X, super xx, Kodachrome, ektachrome, agfachrome, Kodacolor, Verichrome and Verichrome Pan, plus x, KB14 and 17, Efke, Agfa 25 and 100, DK50, DK60a, Ektalure, Kodabromide, Velox, Azo, royal Pan, ektapan, Royal X pan, 2475 recording film, high speed IR B&W, infrared color, Konica Color and IR, Arkay, Pako, Ektar lenses, Gundlach, B&L lenses, Weisner and Wista. Ektachrome E2, E3, E4 and C22 processes are gone too. The selection of film, paper and chemistry was unbelievable until the 90's when many products started to disappear.

Makes my head hurt and very sad they're gone.

Forgot, original TX which was nothing like the current production.

Contax?

DuPont is what came to my lips first, but x-ray beat me to it. 🙂

Mitsubishi made a paper I used a few times too.

...recently discovered the Bergger Warmtone mat...

That really is a darn nice paper isn't it? Been printing on it a bunch lately, in Print WA, Moersch Sepia 1 and ECO 4812.
