After a lot of thought, I've decided to pick up an x100s this week. As many of you know, I was not 100% happy with the X-E1 (AF and EVF didn't do it for me). It seems like the AF of the X100s might be good enough for my needs and I think that the OVF will be what I was looking for from the start.
I wasn't a fan of the 35mm lens in the past, but having used a Bessa R2a and 35mm Summicron for almost a year now, it seems to be a focal length that fits most of my shooting.
Hope this turns out well!

The black version is coming out in Feb if you prefer vs silver. I am also looking into this but may need to wait.

It says it's being released tomorrow on the Amazon website!

Oh that's good so you may have a chance to get this soon. I'm still thinking of handling the X trans files if LR has already fixed this. I've used the X100 before and I love it, sold it and got the X2 which IMO has better IQ but an external EVF sometimes gets in the way.

Also to mention flare is prevalent so use of the hood is somewhat mandatory for me.

Interesting! Over a year ago I bought one of the small X10's. Didn't mind it at first but then I realised how off the viewfinder was, not to mention that it was basically impossible to set exposure without leaving the viewfinder (no HUD at all). The image quality and resolution were average and the dynamic range wasn't anything to shake a leg at.
I ended up buying a Canon EOS M with 22mm lens and while it's a great camera and capable of producing lovely images, I really do miss looking through a viewfinder (coming from shooting DSLRs). Also, I'd shot a roll on my Canonet before the shutter and aperture got stuck
That was my first experience with a proper rangefinder camera and after trying the X100s a month or two ago and thinking about getting one for months I think I've also decided to give one a shot as my street camera, selling the EOS M to someone who will use it more.
Did you go with the black? I think I actually like the silver myself.

I went with the black one. I actually really like both, but just went with the newer. I received it yesterday and I'm liking it a lot more than the X-E1 I had.

Had the original x100 and loved it. Sold it to pick up an X-Pro 1 when they were first released; hated it and promptly sold it. Picked up an x100s when it was first released and love it even more than the original x100. Definitely not selling this guy.
Originally I was a 50mm shooter (and part of me still prefers that FL), but I grew to appreciate the wider view that 35mm offers.
