Hi all,
If I wanted to replace the small rangefinder glass window what
type of glue should I use when placing it back in the black frame?

Don' know the answer, but I would pose it directly to an actual repair person like John Van Stelton at Focal Point, Frank Marshman at CameraWiz or Sherry Krauter at Golden Touch.

I'd use epoxy, and let it cure well, before re-installing into the camera.
I would NOT use:
- contact cement, nor rubber cement - not strong enough
- cyano-acrylate - outgasses, creeps to other surfaces.

Thank's guy's, maybe a clear epoxy just a little at the edges to keep it in place.

I've always used contact cement by Bison. This was on M's though and there is a clip holding the 2 windows in so the glue is just for sealing. It also makes it easier for when the windows need to be replaced as the glue is easily removed with nail varnish remover.

I have repaired a few viewfinders using clear nail polish as the adhesive. Not what it's made for but it works. It doesn't out-gas like superglue, doesn't wander like rubber cement and isn't hard to remove for future repairs.
