. . . and how do you like it?

I've been reading everything I can find, and looking at all the YouTube articles; but I haven't bought any Glimmerglass filters yet. I see they are used both by cinematographers and still photographers--the latter mostly for portraits, apparently. One reason I haven't bought any is they are apparently not multicoated, limiting their use outdoors (too much flare). Oh yeah--they cost too much.

(Does Tiffen still not coat most filters? The only multicoated Tiffens seem to be the ultraviolet filters.)

I don't shoot portraits, but I think Glimmerglass would be useful for its way of reducing contrast; and their way of adding, well, Glimmer--which I might like for landscapes and shots of my rosebushes. And maybe cityscapes?

One example of Glimmerglass is the movie, "Wicked." The DP shot it with 1/4 strength GG.

I became interested in diffusion filters recently and I bought several to try. One was a Glimmerglass. But I'm embarrassed to admit I've yet to use any of these filters.

I'm like that. I jump into things with enthusiasm and then lose interest quickly. Not good for the bank account.
