Anyone else having trouble getting into gmail?

For the past few days, off and on, after logging in, all I've gotten is a white screen with the word "Loading . . . " in the upper left corner.

If anyone from the forum is trying to get in contact with me there, my apologies. Please try scottgee1@yahoo.com

Thanks!/ScottGee1

I hadn't tried in about 4 days, but I just went there and had no trouble logging on. If there was a problem I missed it, and it is working now.

No problems for me either.... hey, has anyone tried out the picture manager tool gmail offers? I was thinking about trying it out, so just wondering.

Yeah, it's working now.

Had I not talked to a tech at my ISP who was able to duplicate the problem exactly, it would clearly have been a personal problem. ;)

This experience reminds me that gmail is really still in beta.

Thanks!/ScottGee1

I logged into gmail a few seconds before I logged in here. Works fine, for me, anyway. :)

if you mean Picasa2, it's wonderful! When I don't need to fool with PS_CS to post-process photos for pro work, I enjoy the simplicity of Picassa2. It surprized me.

I can never log in to gmail at home, even though I have the latest Win XP, etc etc. I just get that white screen and "loading". Any ideas???

That's exactly what I got at home, but I'm using 98SE (long story) so it ain't the OS. Which browser are you using? I've tried Firefox (my primary) and IE (blech!)

We have to realize Google has made it clear that they're still in Beta but I haven't been asked for, nor can I find a place to offer feedback.

When the tech at my ISP was able to duplicate this on his very high powered broad band connected system this morning, I began to get a sense of how widespread the problem is.

That said, I just did some research and this might help:

Though I'll have to learn how to 'Whitelist' . . . FWIW/ScottGee1

Follow up . . .

Follow up . . .

OK. After some research, Ben and I found that on some systems there is a proxy related problem that is resolved very easily. Use this URL:

https://gmail.google.com

What a difference an 's' makes. I'm tempted to call it a pain in the 's'.

And other than the user forum, Google was no help at all. One of the advantages of being 'in Beta'.
