And, of course, the most common chant of the Austin Peay basketball fans is, Let's Go Peay!

Would have to agree that The Mighty Ducks is seriously dumb, based, as it is, on a bad movie.

the streets of my beloved whyte avenue fill up with thousands of young fans and some are just looking for trouble.

Never could understand that game. Decades ago in 7th grade English they had a sentence that read something like " Bill and Jane loved hockey". The up-roar of snickering was only riveled by the reaction to " Bill wore his rubbers to town". We just weren't too sophisticated down here. I think they even play that game in Dallas now. I quit keeping up with it when KMOX lost the Blues contract. Now they don't broadcast the Cardinals. Harry and Jack must be rolling in their graves. but in ya'll's behalf, "Go Oilers". Did Gretsky used to play there? ;>)
 
As Pierre McGuire would say, "Pronger is a MONSTER out there!" I'm seriously surprised by the Oilers-Ducks series, mostly because I thought Anaheim would be tougher, especially with the Niedermeyers on defense. Both games have been close, and better ice in Edmonton may make a difference. But man, I am glad to see the Oil doing so well.

Oh, and I'm also pulling for the Canes. I'm on the record at work as promising the Sabres will not win the Cup.
 
I was ready to go to bed after the Oil went up 4-0; that would have been a mistake! I think the Oilers were running out of gas because of all the guys who've had stomach virus, but they were able to hold on.
 
THEY DID IT!!!!

Great game, first time in the playoffs the Ducks lost after scoring the first goal. Great effort guys!

Yeah, the last 3 minutes were extremely tense... that delay of game penalty on Pronger had me on pins and needles ... there went their best penalty killer aside from Roloson.

Damn straight!! Especially after the way their jacka$$ fans behaved at our arena! :mad:

cap'n: I didn't watch the whole game last night, as we had guests over for cookout. In fact, I only watched the overtime. So, I didn't see how the Sabres fans behaved, but believe me, I can imagine. For the most part they are jerks, and the fans for their AHL affiliate here in Rah-cha-cha are even worse. One night when the St. John's Leafs were playing here the fans a couple of rows behind me were particularly obnoxious. They lustily booed every penalty called against them, even when it was a blatant infraction. After more than 2 periods of this, I turned around and asked one of the jerks if he were going to be present for the next game. He said, of course, so I said "Good; I'll bring you a rule book." Oh, I was NOT a popular person, not that I had been with my Leafs sweater and cap anyway :angel: ; these guys can't take what they dish out.

I used to support Buffalo, but when the organization did what they did to Ted Nolan, that was it for me. I'll never forgive that unless they apologize and Nolan accepts that apology.
