So, I have a late 50's goggled Summaron 35/3.5 in M-mount and two hoods for it: IROOA and ITDOO. (Pic here).

Which is the correct hood to use? The ITDOO is a fair bit deeper...

Actually my IROOA is different to the one pictured.

Cheers for that, I should have mentioned in the original post - the source of my confusion is this:
The IROOA says 1 : 3.5/35 on it(and some other similar marking for other lenses)
The ITDOO just says Summaron 3.5cm (and Summicron 5cm) on it.

ITDOO is the earlier version of IROOA, the principle difference is that ITDOO has single inner claws, whereas the IROOA has double inner claws. I have three variations of the ITDOO itself, the first one is the tallest one, it gets shorter and shorter.

ITDOO is heavier than IROOA.

never mind what the lens says, both fit 35 and 50mm lens.

I think the only practical difference between the IROOA and the 12585 is looks. Both shield the lens and prevent flare. I simply like the IROOA better... for no reason whatsoever, and that's why I recommend it.

BTW, I had the 12585 before, but sold it to Mark (Markinlondon) when I got my IROOA.
