Going to Istanbul some Q's

For my Birthday the wife has booked a wk end in Istanbul and I have some odd questions. where is the first McDonalds or KFC or similar on the Asian and Euro sides. Also does anyone know of any Tesco or Aldi or similar foreign owned supermarket. These are part of a long term project I am working on so any help would be useful.

Just a weekend? My wife and I spent 10 days there and felt it was't enough!

On the Galata Tower side there is a shopping area that has foreign owned shops if I remember correctly. Tunnel area?? There are two Starbucks there. One at either end. Hope that helps.

I am from Istanbul and will be pleased to help you.

About Mc Donalds, Gloria Jeans, Starbucks etc. you will have no problem. Easiest places to find those food chains are the big shopping centers which you may easily find. It is hard to say which one you will find first. It totally depends on where you will be staying.

We do not have Aldi nor Tesco but we have Carrefour (I believe it is French?).
