Going to Sell my M3 and M2...

Yes.. I have been considering lenses as well.. but I need to sell off all my 50mm M mount lenses (all of.. oh.. 1 😀) and perhaps my old collapsible 90mm M (since I don't find myself using the longer focal lengths) and see if I can snag a nice 50 Lux (plus some $$$ of course).

But this all is pending how this other M body will work out for me.... who knows.. I may hate it.....but a body is a body is a body... I guess we all just want to try different bodies..... I am, after all, single 😀 😀

Crazy,
Dave

Dave, I'm lucky enough to have 3 Ms and also lucky enough to have no problem with it. One is a 0.85 mag for lenses >=50mm. Another is a 0.72 mag for lenses <=35mm. The third one is a backup. Easy! 😉 Yours are also different enough to be used in different situations. 😎 Don't sell!! 😱

I know a little of Dave's plan and I think he is a wise man

As the previous owner of the venerable M3 in question, I can tell you it leaves a big hole in your life when it's gone!

No, seriously, the only thing worse in my mind than seller's regret is an unused camera. Reminds me of what Malcolm X wrote about all the wasted human potential he saw around him.

shush you guys..

I will tell you this... as a single guy.... who has no monetary worries per se... and one who enjoys cameras, photography and gear; I'm always willing to try stuff out. Joe, you know that all too well yourself 🙂

So.. I'm going to try something out. Who knows.. I may end up, like Peter above, keeping all 3 M's.. I just feel like they get neglected if I'm not putting them to use 🙂

Plus the past month (and this coming one too) has been busy with weddings for me so my Canon digital gear has been getting more of a work out than it usually does. Once things settle down, I can then re-train my mind to think a la Rangefinder. 🙂 and perhaps be extremely geeky and hang three M's around my neck at the next Toronto meet.. 😀

Use straps of different lengths, Dave! 🙂

I'm sure DAVE'S PLAN will be revealed at the GTA RFF meeting on Sept 23, (if not before). We will ply him with adult beverages to loosen his tongue.

Well, I would like a lux, and bid on the cl with one a week or two ago, but it would have been at great cost, so I didn't push the bid. If I had more of a plan, I might of. It felt to whimsical to me. But Dave, if you have a plan, all I can say is you should go through with it. Best of luck. -(Maybe it is a Noct.)

Just naturally high on life, Joe. (If you happen to know where I could get some though...)

I would follow most (if not all) of Frank's philosophy re: plans.

I think, and Frank please correct me if I'm wrong, that his Zen Buddhist tendencies probably keep him pretty much centered when it comes to dealing with the day-to-day tribulations.

I tend to do the same, but I find myself mixing my Catholic faith with those Zen philosophies - seems to work just fine for me

Veering Off Topic,
Dave
