a while back, i sold one of my rd1 bodies to get funds to buy a fuji x100...
loved the x100.
prefer to shoot with 2 bodies but i like them to be the same and the x100 was too different (for me) from the rd1 to work well together.
just concluded a trade deal. my x100 for his (fellow rf member) rd1.
i think we are both pleased and happy and now it's just a matter of packing and shipping...
i believe the rd1's will be the camera of choice for a long while now.

Cograts on your return to 2xRD-1. Obviously you're getting ace photos with any camera you use, so it's down to practicality issues.
I've decided I'll use my RD-1 until it fails beyond repair, no point in selling such an awesome and enjoyable camera. If I can save up for an M9 I might do that too, just for kicks, in the next year or 10!

Well I understand where your coming from but I'm surprised you let the Fuji go. You know of course I have both these cams and I when the situation calls for it I shoot them side by side with either a wider or longer lens on the RD. As a travel camera I would probably choose the Fuji.
But, each to their own Joe and I hope you get back into your natural shooting mode soon.

Pleased for you Joe. Its nice to take a trip, but nice to come back home
Strangely enough, I am beginning to warm to the X100, although I still prefer the M8.

they're just cameras, swap 'em, sell 'em, buy 'em and trade 'em as the need or mood arises. I'll sell or trade to try something in a heartbeat. One of the things that keeps it interesting.

Joe, it was interesting following your progress with the X100. Your last round of RD-1 shots were some of the best work that i've seen from you in a while. It looks like you made the right decision for yourself. (for now

Yes Joe, you really do some fine work with the R-D1. Like kuvvy I find that I use the X100 for traveling and when I want to shoot color but b/w is my favorite medium and I just love the results from the R-D1. It's such a pleasure to use and I wish that I had a backup as mine is out for repair. The LCD died while using it over the weekend. Argh-h-h-h.
