Hello all,

What books or journal articles would you recommend for the history of photography in New York, or more specifically for the history of street photography in New York?

Thanks so much.

THis may not be quite what you are looking for but I like "New York Changing - Revisiting Berenice Abbott's New York" by Douglas Levere. It shows photos of New York City taken in the 1930s by Berenice Abbott and then the photos re-taken at the same location 60-65 years later. It's great fun.

New York, You're a Wonderful Town: Fifty-Plus Years of Chronicling Gotham, Henrik Krogius, Arcade Publishing 2003

(I saw another copy on the "discount" table at the Leica Gallery on Broadway. May be gone by now. $10)
