Is this a good deal for a user M3 and summicron?

Any comments? Good deal? Seller has great feedback for photo equipment. Now, if it is, don't snipe me. Then I'll have to decide between a CL, Hexar AF or M3. Damn you all.

That is a great price. The take-up spool will go another $25. I'm not selling my spare, I like having the extra for pre-threading the next roll for drop in loading.
I have two M3's, and won't snipe you. But $695 BIN for a Leica M3 with a Summicron that will fetch at least $200: I paid $430 for an M2 in need of repair, which ran $180.

700 USD for an M3 w/summicron looks like a good deal to me, provided it is indeed in usable condition as advertised. It's probably a good thing that I have not gone over to the dark side, or else I would use BIN to pick it up.

It may need a little work (like cleaning the lens), but I'd say jump on it before someone else does. If I wanted to get myself served with divorce papers I'd go for it myself (but that would be extremely bad form, considering you brought it to my attention in the first place).
Nick (who still doesn't own a Leica; having a hard time justifying getting one but a DS M3 is tempting)

If I just bid on it, won't the BIN dissappear?
Yes, the BIN will disappear, but do not be surprised if it gets sniped past the BIN amount before the auction closes. I've seen it before!
I agree with the others. Jump on it at the BIN price. I bought my SS M3 with recent CLA by DAG and no lens for $700 and thought I got a decent deal.

Okay, I'll kick myself for this. But I've got a minty Leitz Minolta CL on my desk, just dug it out of the peanuts. With a perfect Rokkor 40 on it. It's sitting next to my Hexar, both of them saying "pick me, pick me!"
A third child in the mix would be too much even for Solomon. I'm going to post this link over in the classifieds as a head's up. Someone should get it and tell me what a fool I am.
It's the ttl thing, I think, that's really holding me back. (Not bank account or wife or...) I love the idea of using my old Coronet B selenium meter like I will (now that I know it works!) with my TLR--but I shoot RF a lot inside or in dim light, and have a fast toddler to keep track of, too. One of these might just be my monogamous shooter.

Great price, great camera, good deal. Someone want to float me a loan?

My M5s need red dots!
There's only one drawback on this one... and probably the reason it hasn't been snatched away already: it's the shutterspeeds. They're the old kind. It's not impossible to handle but it's a little difficult to concile with more modern meters.
However, just for the lens it'd be a great deal!
The film spools can be had for some $15 to $25. I'm actually contemplating to get an extra one myself.

Temptation... too... hard... to... resist... must... not... buy... it... now...
Aaaah, you people! I need to stop visiting this site, it's some kind of sickness or something.
This after just picking up a Bell & Howell Foton too. Well, I already have a Summicron, so expect one to be listed in the next couple of weeks.

Somebody got it, and they look like they are big into Canon.

It was me (hence the previous post). My ebay username has more to do with my last name, although I do have a soft spot for the company's past and present SLRs and rangefinders too!
Nice grab. Enjoy.
Wahoo! Another point for my side in the race with Joe to corrupt people! I'm not sure if the M3's or Canon P's are running ahead.

Gah, don't tempt me into getting a P as well! I'm cut off of gear for a while.
I placed a bid on a Canon P. The last time I went Ebay'ing for one, I wound up with a $140 BIN VI-t.

Good job, Alex! That was a nice catch.
Now... it's time to contact Morgan Sparks at Cameraleather.com

Thanks, Francisco. I was looking at the different coverings earlier... I'm thinking Levant Black leather.

I still don't have a P.
IIF, IV-Sb, VT, VI-T, and 7, but no P.
So far, my rule with Canon bodies is I only buy them if they're almost free.
The problem with the P is that so many people want that particular body, so it's rare to get a real deal on one (although a P+50/1.8 went last night for under $200 -- in that case, though, it sounded like there were some problems with the body).
