Looks like two people make iPhone cases that facilitate their use as cameras:

Moment:

SNAP!

Both have some dings against them. The Moment uses bluetooth for a shutter rather than just pushing the up volume key.

SNAP seems to be made of slippery plastic.

Anyone know any others? I ideally I'd want one that pushes the physical button so you don't need a separate app and has a decent grip.

I wish the Moment folks would make a case for the 5 (my model), I've asked and they said no plans.

If I wanted to make a better grip, I'd look at using a self-built (filed, sanded, finished) block of wood and a command strip to keep it in place.

I liked the idea/design of the moment, but have not purchased one.

Anyone have any first hand experience or other options?

Ideally, I'd make one that plugged into both the lightning and headphone jack and had an auxiliary battery under the grip portion to charge the phone and a physical shutter button that would be able to work the way a volume control on headphones does.

It seems silly to use Bluetooth (like the Moment) or a button that physically presses the up arrow (SNAP!) when an auxiliary volume control would work via the headphone jack.

Think you could make something pretty cool that way.

I'd also like one for an iPhone 5s would have new life when the introduce the 5SE with better camera soon...

I'm torn as I like the idea of no wires, but after working with bluetooth mice and keyboards I hate the delay that is because of the network.

I'm lusting for a 4SE, but can live with a 5SE. But I'd be tempted to switch to Android if someone came out with a kick-butt camera built in. Long as it has a built-in hotspot (;->>>>>

Not released yet, but I have a design...it's more like a grip/case, and provides a shutter button. PM me and I'll send you pics and details.
