i slept in this morning till nearly 7 a.m.
that rarely happens but i'm tired these days, it seems.
i'm now off for coffee & breakfast with the saturday morning boys club. (although we have women there now too)
i had wanted to be at the farmer's market by 7 today to use the 85/135 combo for some more test shots but i guess that's not to be.
temp is dropping as we speak so outdoor shooting will be harder.
anyway, GOOD MORNING to all!!

Overcast in Ontario ... again. That backlighting theme will have to wait, but at least I'm enjoying a second cup of coffee!

Here it's a beautiful morning. I just finished watching Chelsea thrashing Newcastle United on the telly. Chelsea look a very good team to me.
My weekend work is installing/configuring a WiFi network in the house, and maybe a visit to my photo project (a youth orchestra) tomorrow.

A grey overcast day here. On my way to work though, I saw a flag pole atop a building with the flags at half-mast that provided a number of possible shots. Hopefully one will work. If not, well, these days it's a common enough sight as we're the state capitol and the flags are lowered to honor all of those we've lost in South-West Asia.

Yeah, good morning or evening or whatever it is the case. I'm a bit pissed off. I went to the lab (the only one that can do high speed BW development correctly, in the town) to pick up the contax"test"shots and they were not ready.
I asked them twice: saturday, for sure? Yes, they said.
And now it's tuesday.
This is the second time they do it with me. I guess i really should be doing my own BW development.

bummer about the film not being ready. i hate when promises are made and not kept...
it's snowing here and not that pretty big white flake kinda snow.
it's like 30% gray sky, dark and a blowing sleet kinda snow.
i'm back home and in for the day. rented a movie, will play on th computer, make a fire but not going out anytime soon.

Good Evening everybody, it is 8 pm here in Finland.
It´s around freezing point, so streets are rather slippery, dark from 4 pm to 8 am, little snow in Southern Finland and mostly cloudy. Some rain and snow today.
I ran out my printing paper and could not get replacement today, so I had lots of time to walk our dogs. Hope better luck tomorrow. We have our Independence day and holidays on monday.

Evening here, warmish for winter, sunny day with splendid cloud formations, took some photos in the front garden for Christmas cards (if they work). Goulash for supper, then on with the fire and onto the couch with a thriller. Perhaps a spot of that kirsch to warm the cockles.
All this follows a long discussion at the supermarket with a woman who holidays in the US, but only in Florida. Told her to go to Colorado instead. But she says she's afraid of the crime. ???
Now for the goulash.

18 degrees...the dog is barking at a deer in my yard...
Really interesting light. I am looking out french doors towards the west, where we have some clouds coming in, to the east though is a bright orange sunrise. An interesting mix of warm and cool light.
... think I will put the cat out to see if he can scare the deer away.

The version i've found in restaurants mostly suck (rare exceptions). Let not even mention the canned types from the supermarket.

Monday morning. Having my coffee before I go spend my day at the restaraunt where I work. I'm not missing much for light today.
Goulash in restaraunts usually isn't very good I think because it is either too old --some places use it as a way to get rid of ingredients that would otherwise go to waste. Or it isn't old enough--when I make it at home, I make it one day and serve it the next.
I have lived in Colorado and spent some time in Florida and think Colorado is much safer! Prettier, too IMHO.

Saturday... A cold wet morning in Seattle at the hotel near the airport, and cameras still packed away in the luggage. A day for driving home over the snowy mountain pass, and dressing with more layers than was needed in 83 degF Hawaii. But it was pretty chilly too (and windy, foggy) at the 10K ft elevation of the Haleakala crater rim on Maui a couple days before.
Monday morning, shock of overnight snowfall bringing us forcefully back to mainland reality, less than was predicted, only an inch of the stuff. And taking a dozen rolls of 220 color film in for processing... that'll be fun to look over when it comes back!
Made a dumb mistake last week with the Fuji GA645Wi that cost me some good shots. Lined up for a shot and the shutter didn't trip. Said "E" on the LCD screen, which I took to be "Error". Pulled and replaced the batteries, no change. Turned off and on, no change, and lens retracted and extended as normal. At home, in the dark, I opened the back and found the film and paper trailer all rolled onto the takeup spool. Weird. Ah, umm... maybe "E" was for Empty, and I didn't notice the warning beep at frame 32, nor afterward the motor winding-off the paper?? I guess so, as the E was gone after closing the back again. Dumb, but now I might remember what "E" means!
