A friend flew into Japan from SE Asia... we had been in touch regarding a problem he was having with his M10. It seems that the ISO dial was not functioning. Since my friend is only in Tokyo for a couple of days, about two weeks ago I talked to the Leica Service team in Ginza... they agreed to fix the problem within two days (11:00 AM drop off on Tuesday to be returned on Wednesday afternoon).
A few hours ago he picked up his camera in perfect working order... it seems that the magnet inside the ISO dial came off so they re-glued it... They also found that the range-finder mechanism was out of alignment and fixed that as well... all free of charge.
One happy camper in Tokyo tonight ; )
