Good quality 90mm f3.5-4 lens

Hi and thanks to all who answer! I Am having my CL with 40mm summicron CLA'ed by dag, and I have a Bessa R3A. I have been searching for a good quality 90mm f3.5-4 lens to accomany theses camers, that is also not too expensive as the camera will be in my car and I do not want to risk my 90 summicron or 90 macro elmar to theft. I have bought, and returned, 2 Leica Elmar C lenses off of Ebay that were supposed to be 'mint'(and I even asked the second seller to check the lens...) and they both had haze and/or fungus(in the second one) in the interior surfaces. Even though the mechanics were truly mint, I use my lenses to actually take pictures. I do not want to risk another Elmar. What do you think of the Voigtlander 90mm f3.5 Lanthar? I can get that new. Or if anyone here has another suggestion I am all ears.... I just wish sellers knew to check their lenses with a flashlight to check for haze/fungus. The second seller I even asked to do this and said all was fine! I don't mind a little dust, but gosh! Anyway, rant over. Thanks to all who reply!!

Is there any chance that CV will release the 90mm Lanthar in an M-mount version? I would like a low-cost alternative to the upcoming Summarit 90mm and I am not too crazy about using LTM lenses with adaptors.

Who knows? Some of the lenses have made the jump to M only, but others have not.

The other alternative is to wait until a Leitz/Rokkor one pops up here in the rff classifieds. You're much more likely to get one in good condition that way.

Your right about that Randy. Everything I have bought here has been perfect, probably because we are all photographers and know what we would like to see if we bought an item like a lens.

What about the original Leica 90/4 from years ago? They came in M mount and were a great size. If you want to chance something a bit bigger you might look at a Steinheil Munchien 85/2.8. They were small and said to be sharp.

My Steinheil Culminar 85/2.8 works well. A 90/4 Elmar is an excellent option. A screw lens with an M adapter becomes an M mount lens. When I had an M3 I would often forget that my lenses were all LTM.
