hi there,

i like to buy a (d)slr camera - mainly to use it with a fisheye lens.
i thought about the panasonic l1 & the olympus fisheye - has anyone experiences with this combination?
an alternative would be a used leica r & the elmarit fisheye (and then scanning the negs ...)
any recommendations?
thanks and regards,
oliver

Nikon and the Nikkor Fisheye is also good.
I have a takumar Fisheye, have not tried it in a DSLR, but works fine in all Kmount cameras

You may also want to try a Zenit fish eye, those are quite cheap and have heard good reviews from them.

Both the K and A series Pentax fisheyes are nice lenses. The 10-17 Fisheye zoom is also quite a useful lens. It has all the characteristics of a fisheye at the wide end but is also usable as a more normal wideangle at the long end. There are several threads elsewhere on this forum with regards to the Pentax dSLRs.

I would agree with a full frame fisheye on a cropped sensor. However a "digital" fisheye on a dSLR does work quite well, hence my suggestion for the 10-17 on the Pentax.

I would not bother with a fisheye unless it was on a full frame DSLR. My OM fisheye is quite disappointing on a Canon D400.

For a DSLR... some 4/3rds body (new E3?) and 7-14... Most beautiful lens I have ever worked with, or seen.

... thanks for all of your feedbacks - a decision will we made soon.

>>locoduck: i also thought about the e-3. but this camera includes to many features / gimmicks for me.

I have a D80 & 10.5mm fish..also have an old Pentax MX with 17mm fish eye. I love fish eyes. The Pentax and 17mm work great just process and scan. You should be able to find that combo for less than $500. The Nikkor cost me 599 for lens alone...I like the 17mm better
