Google alternative to eBay?

Has anybody used Google Base for buying or selling?

It's fixed price selling - not auction.

Do a search in the box at the top for Leica or Fuji or whatever, and you'll see the cameras or film or whatever.

It's very early days so there's not many listings yet, but when people start selling there will be more variety and greater choice.

Clearly they have some search issues to work through. I did a search for "cameras"
and the first f***ing 48 pages were multiple listings for Fuji disposable cameras and
Tamron 28-300s.

You must be more specific. Such as "Zorki Camera". That's what I did. However, i was directed to an eBay listing every time I clicked on view item. 🙁

Yes, I think they are short of stock because they are starting out.

But in the longer term it may be a viable marketplace.

Well, for now it rates as the single most ineptly wasteful site ever to hit the web. This thing is like writing "War and Peace" by typing one letter per page. How could
Google, of all companies gotten this so absolutely, preposterously wrong?
