I have a Nikon F5 with the 50mm lens. Would this strap be comfortable for this camera combo? I'll be wearing it on my shoulder.

No. I like them on light RF's, but they are very narrow and not really suitable for a heavy camera. Nice straps, though. I like the Upstrap on DSLR's and SLR's.

I used a Leica with the thin strap, and I really liked that the strap stayed in that 'valley' between my neck and shoulder. Do you think it would be uncomfortable? I may buy one and stick it on my zorki if I find it uncomfortable.

It is uncomfortable to me with heavier cameras. But, the Gordy strap is terrific on an RF, IMHO. YMMV, though.

My suggestion for the big SLRs is the Tamrac padded leather strap. its simple, elegant, and not too bulky while still being padded.
I've had the same one for probably 10 years and just pulled it from my D3 for my rangefinder. Go figure..

I'm using the Domke Gripper right now, but I was thinking the Gordy's strap would be nicer looking, and would stay on better.

Gordy's straps are inexpensive. Pick one up and decide for yourself. Like you said, you can always use it on another, lighter camera.
