Gossen luna Pro light meter Battery?

hello,

Is there a modern replacement for the old merc. batteries in these meters? i am thinking about buying one... They will go to 12000 ASA and i love shooting at that speed..... As long as If can I can still get Rodinal... Thanks for any info.

One option is to get a couple of PX625 mercury battery adapters from http://www.criscam.com The adapters reduce the voltage of modern silver batteries; a bit costly up front, but quite convenient.

john neal, one of our own here at rff, also makes an adapter for this purpose. i'm waiting for one from his next batch.

An adapter is a much better solution the the Wein air zinc cells which are short-lived and expensive.

B&H sells a battery adapter for Lunar Pro. It costs US$40.

Really, the ASA should not be of any concern! Just measure at 3200 asa with any meter, close down two f-stops and you arrive to the equivalent to 12800 asa. A meter doesn't care what asa you set on its dial, the light sensitivity does NOT increase with higher asa, that is only determined by the type of (opto)electronics it uses
